The first player to act in any round of betting.

Underdog
|
The hand that is mathematically least likely to win in a showdown.

Underpair
|
A pair that is lower than any of the cards on the board, for example a small pocket pair against a board filled with high cards.

Upcard
|
A card that is dealt face upwards to a player is called an upcard.
|
Value
|
Recieving more than the minimum odds necessary to continue with your hand, typically when you are already the favourite or drawing with favourable pot odds.

Value Bet
|
A small bet made in the hope to get calls and increase the size of the pot.
|
Variance
|
The increases and decreases in your bankroll, the bigger the swings the higher your variance.

Vigorish
|
The fee or charge taken from each player by the house for hosting the game.
|
Walk
|
A situation where everybody folds to the big blind, the big blind recieves a walk.
|
Wheel
|
A straight from ace to five, the lowest straight possible.
|
Wild
|
A predetermined set of cards from the deck which can be assigned any rank or suit.
