Reverse Implied OddsReverse implied odds are the odds assigned to you making your hand with the possibility of not winning the pot if your opponents hand improves past yours, or, is already beating the best hand you can make; typically if you win the hand, you will make the minimum from your opponent and if you lose, your opponent will be able to extract further bets from you on later betting rounds, this is what dictates your reverse implied odds. For example, you have a straight draw and there is a flush draw on the board; if you make your straight your reverse implied odds are very high because it's likely you won't be folding this hand in the face of subsequent raises, whereas if your opponent is on a broken draw their reverse implied odds are low because they don't expect to lose anymore chips should you bet on any later betting rounds. Another typical example of a reverse implied odds situation is when one player has an overpair to the board, such as pocket aces, but the board has both an open ended straight draw aswell as a flush draw; if the player holding the pocket aces wins, they are only likely to win a small pot, but if they lose, they are likely to be losing to a better hand. Despite this, if the person holding the pocket aces is intending on playing their hand to a showdown, they will most likely pay off their opponent and therefore their reverse implied odds are high.
