5yo by Acclamation Fai Fai is chanced at Brighton over six furlongs. Winner on first start in France in 2021 and has failed to score since but has run a lot closer on recent occasions, arguably due to his handicap mark coming right down to this basement grade of 46. In-form George Rooke (SR 29%) rides for trainer Daniel Steele. Third start for this yard and a return to turf. New headgear is tried. Big price from low in the handicap in a class 6 contest.

Seven year-old, formerly with David Barron, makes second start for Tom McGuinness yard. Went unbacked and ran poorly on first start for the stable just ten days ago. Some early market interest today, though, and Seamie Heffernan (SR 50%) is booked. Six wins for the Barrons from 31 starts, off ORs of 63 and 64 last year. Runs off 63 today. Would be fancied on his best ability.

Pigeon House put in a smart effort to win a pretty decent handicap hurdle at Punchestown one week ago for Jessica Harrington. Hasn’t really had many starts on the Flat and has come on considerably for his season hurdling. Possible that he’s in very good form in himself. Handicap mark six pounds lower than when last seen on the Flat and upped to 1m6f since staying obviously suits (by the expensive stallion Saxon Warrior). Shane Foley rides.
