        Reasons to Join

Three great offers, sign up bonus, freeroll and free buy in ! Mix with the young up and coming pros.

        Fair fees for all.

Good regular promotions, particularly for MTT players.

Poor ring game standards with many sports bettors playing at the low stakes tables.

        Signing Up

        9/10

Anybody with an existing Betfair sports account can simply download the poker software and begin playing immediately.

There isn't even a need to transfer funds,as poker just simply uses the same wallet as sports.

Anybody without a Betfair sports account can just download the software(which is a fast and easy process) and either have a look around the site by making use of the play money tables or make a deposit via their preferred choice of many options and jump straight into playing for real money

        Software

        8/10

Betfair's software is sleek, smooth and easy on the eye.The lobby is very well presented and again is user friendly both in its layout and easy navigation.

Little time will be wasted in searching for the game type of your choice as the lobby is well filtered.

Cash lobby featuring real money and play money filters with hold'em,omaha and even blackjack available. The tourney lobby features all regular games, freerolls, sit and go and satellites.

In both lobby's one can choose to filter the games that show(high, medium and low stakes). The tables are nice and simple and have a modern technic look to them.Sizeable option bars for call, fold and raise means much less chance of a misclick and the slider bar for bet sizes is easy to use as well.

        Ring Games

        8/10

Word on the street is that the cash game action at Betfair is on the boil and beginning to hot up. There is plenty of action at both holdem and omaha tables.Vast amount of tables to select from at the lower stakes, especially at peak times and weekends. There are also several high stakes players on the site and the amount of dollars sat at the tables is more than sizeable.

The standard, certainly at the lower limits($1/$2 and down) and even on some of the higher limits is more than beatable.

        Tournaments

        8/10

Betfair have a wide variety of tournaments available to suit every taste. They have plenty of fast paced tournaments for those who like the fast and furious style of poker where a bit more gamble is needed.Deepstacked tournaments are also available.

They have a running mtt leaderboard with good cash prizes and buy-ins for bigger mtt's on offer.Their flagship weekly tournament is a $400 $55k gtd NLH freezeout.

Betfair also have a wide range of satellites both to their own online games with bigger buy-ins and also to big live events from the Aussie Millions to tournaments all across Europe.

        Sit & Gos

        7/10

The stt scene on Betfair is not as vast as its cash or mtt scene. This obviously picks up significantly in the evenings and weekends and is certainly worth a look as from my own experience the games are very soft and easily beatable.

        Support

        8/10

Good support with all the usual methods available. Betfair really try hard to please in this area.

        Banking

        8/10

Easy, with just about all payment methods accepted including paypal and moneybookers.

        Standard of Players

        9/10

It seems a lot of players are just random gamblers who have ventured over to the poker section from their sportsbook.

        Loyalty Promotions

        8/10

These include a weekly leaderboard with prizes for serious MTT players, $10 max house fee on all tournaments and plenty of guaranteed tournaments and freerolls.

        Summary

        8.1/10

Betfair poker is exactly as one would expect it to be,it embodies what Betfair poker is about as a brand. Betfair exploded onto the poker scene a few years ago and since then have been determined to stamp their mark in a very competitive field.

They signalled that they meant business by securing the sponsorship deal to the WSOPE,which is the biggest thing to happen to European poker in recent years. One need only look at their sponsored professional players. Annette Obrestad and John Tabatabai are two of the youngest and up and coming pro's and it is therefore fitting that they are the faces of Betfair.

Betfair continues to grow both as a brand and as a poker site and it is certainly a site with a lot to offer.
